Christmas spirit is here...

It's still November, but I'm already dreaming of Christmas. Yesterday, my husband and I went to take back my framed pictures and I saw beautiful Christmas decorations. You may ask why I am so surprised! I've lived for about 2 and a half year in Turkey and it's going to be my third Christmas and it's the first time I see really beautiful Christmas tree decorations on sale. As I'm going to Lithuania next week, I was planning to get some decorations from over there, but how pleased I was to see those glittering factory and even hand made decorations. I'll definately take some photos of them when I go to buy them in December and I'll show you!!! Wonderful!!! And really cheaper than I remember they are in Lithuania.

In the photo you can see my last cross-stiched picture of Christmas trees. It's going to be a present for my friend. We have a kind of funny story about decorating her Christmas tree three years ago. So it's a sort of way to say I'm sorry for those three bottles of champagne and a ridiculously looking tree!!!

Roses are pink...

I bought a Turkish cross-stitching magazine just to get the pattern for those roses and then I found out that DMC provides a free pattern for DMC club members. Yes, this really proves that you live and learn!!!

On the other hand, I've been recently thinking how my life has changed during the last year. I got more free time ( as I work just part-time) that is why I can focus on things I really love doing but never had time for - cooking and cross-stitching. What a pleasing feeling!!! Just have to focus on another passion -teaching. Funny, though, many people have strange biased opinion of beeing a teacher, but personally I love it. The problem is just as I'm a foreigner in a strange country and it's not that easy...

At least I have my pink roses...

Pastel poppies framed

Finally I got my so long cross-stitched pastel poppies framed. I'm not very satisfied with the frame I chose, as the choise was pretty limited and I wanted the frame to match the other pictures in my room. Or maybe it's going to be a present for someone. Still thinking... Hopefully not for another half a year!!! Have a nice day everyone!!!

Poppies and Camomile

When I first saw this work by one of the cross-stitching fans, I knew I have to make it. And I made it!!! Very quickly as I was so motivated and inspired that I just couldn't stop! It took just about 2 weeks and whenever I look at it, I just love it!!! Waiting for our new home... I already have a vision where to hang it....

It's just me...

I'm not a crafty girl but still I have some adictions that sometimes turn into something. My recent adiction is cross-stitching... It has developed mainly from pure envy that I felt looking at wonderful works that many cross-stitchers have been working on... Why not to show off a bit... It's just a start... but definitely I'll go on with it...

Above you can see one of my first works 'Pastel Poppies'. A prettychallenging design for the start but still I love these pink tones... Can't wait to see them on the wall...
